Heywood Festival 2026
What is Heywood Presents?
Heywood Presents... is a community-led initiative by Culture Co-op, giving local Heywood residents the chance to decide what art and cultural events and activities we produce in Heywood.
You may have seen some of our stuff already? Maybe you’ve seen the large mural we co-produced on outside Darnhill fish and chip shop? Or perhaps you’ve watched one of our films celebrating the creative talent found across Heywood?
How we work with Local Residents
Our programme is ‘co-designed’ with local residents to help ensure it’s as relevant to people’s interests and ideas as possible. Up until now, this has most entailed 14 local Heywoodites meeting up at Tree House Café chatting about what art productions we’ll put on, whilst eating pie and beans
Get Involved, Fill in the Survey
In August 2026, we will be co-producing a new Festival for Heywood. This will be our biggest activity in Heywood to date, so we want as many people as possible to complete our survey and share their ideas about what topics and themes we should explore, as well as what kind of activities we should put on.
Culture Co-op Community Workshop: Creating a New Festival for Heywood
We are inviting 40 local residents to come to a workshop on Sunday 22nd February to reflect on what has been shared so far via the survey and discuss what the new festival should be like in finer detail. It will be a really relaxed, fun and creative atmosphere.
If you are interested, please complete an Expression of Interest Form. Alternatively, we can accept video or voicenote submissions, if you’d prefer this method, please email info@theculturecoop.org
We are particularly keen to hear from people who have not been involved in art festivals or community events before.
